William David Lillard, son of Jesse Watson Lillard and Martha "Mattie" Lillard, was born on December 15, 1892 in Watervalley, AR and died on January 2, 1960 in Tyronza, AR. In 1906, young William moved with his parents from Water Valley to
Tyronza, AR where he grew up and attended school. He met and married Pruda Barger in Tyronza. Three children were born to this union: Lora Lillard, Freda May Lillard, and a son who died at birth. (source)
According to records collected by my great aunt, William and Pruda at some point moved to Marked Tree, AR where their daughters grew up and married. Following the unexpected death of Freda's first husband shortly after marriage, she eventually remarried a Church of God minister named Larry May. The couple moved to Alabama in 1955. After Larry suffered a stroke and could no longer work, William and Pruda moved there as well to help Freda.
